Evolve Research and Consulting on behalf of the Australian Women Donors Network

gender wise

What

The Australian Women Donors Network (AWDN) is an Australian Natural Family planning (NFP) advocating for equitable gender-sensitive practices in the social investment and grant-making sector. The AWNDs vision is to bring gender equality to build a fairer, more inclusive society for women and girls. They aim to achieve this through increasing investments in women and girls by Australian social funders, non-profit organisations.

How

The AWDND appointed Evolve Research Management to conduct this research. They carried out initial qualitative in-depth interviews by online surveys. Participants consisted of a board of directors, trustees, CEOs and executives from Australia\'s largest beneficiary NFPs.

Impact

The research produced several insightful results for the AWND to reflect on. The AWND changed its strategy based on these results demonstrating the significance of the study. They set out to redefine their messaging on vision and purpose and they produced a new strategy to communicate more effectively among other noteworthy changes. The changes made have had several positive knock-on effects, such as major philanthropic donors looking to work with AWND and the establishment of strategic partnerships with Corporate Partner - Mecca Cosmetics. Overall there has been significant support and changes to the way in which philanthropic investing relates to women and equality in Australia.
